Comment j'ai changée de vie ! Ma reconversion professionnelle

How I changed my life!

My professional retraining

Today is a special day, I made my 1500th sale on one of the marketplaces that hosts VIOLN 😍! So I'm taking advantage of this special day to write my first post on this blog.

I would share with you here:
- Decorating ideas
- DIYs DIY/Restoration
- BEFORE/AFTER restoration of vintage furniture
- Small Deco Trends briefs for your cozy nest
- Or even “anti-waste” recipe ideas ;)

  • A PROFESSION OF PASSION:
Let me introduce myself, my name is Violaine, I grew up in the countryside in the Centre-Val de Loire region. With a degree in Applied Arts in my pocket, I went on to study fashion design, graphic design, and modeling in Paris. I worked for more than 10 years in several companies, more specifically as a stylist in women's lingerie. Why this specialization? I have always loved drawing, creating with my hands, shaping, inventing and anything that is precise or meticulous... Lingerie has allowed me to flourish in this delicate creative world. We don't realize how much lingerie is one of the most complex pieces to make. I loved this job where we had to decipher the trends and desires of tomorrow (how many times have I made a mistake signing a check, used to working 1 year in advance 😅).

  • ACCUMULATION
Alongside all this, I have always had a slight "OCD" for ACCUMULATION ( which probably comes from my dad). Don't throw anything away, see in each thing the little thing that could perhaps be useful to me tomorrow, or.... next year 😂. So I keep, recover, restore, divert, transform... From my first student apartment to this day, my decoration has been nothing but recovery.

  • NOSTALGIA
After more than 10 years of living from this incredible job where I loved designing products from A to Z, from trends to drawings. The development with my modeling sidekick. These trips to the other side of the world in China. The choice of colors and materials. These samples of lace by the thousands that we spread out on the tables. Until the immense satisfaction of seeing my finished "babies" delicately hanging on hangers in stores or even worn on a beach (for the swimsuit part that I also did). How nostalgic to rehash all that...

  • I'M GOING FOR IT
In July 2018, I took the plunge. It was NOW or NEVER. Why not take the plunge and live off this second passion which is not to create but to GIVE LIFE AGAIN . Revalue, restore, care for, transform... What a pleasure to give a second life to things rather than throwing them away. In the end, this is what I have always done. In my life, my consumption, my decoration, my diet... Maybe too much of this world of "fast fashion". Always more, faster, cheaper and unfortunately more polluting. A real ecological impact.

  • MY LOGO, MY BRAND
So I look for a name... Home, deco, recycling... ppfff months and months of searching in vain. I stop wasting time and decide to go for an IMAGE LOGO. My first name in phonetics VIOLAINE in the idea of NIKE or UNDIZ which are easily recognizable but which do not necessarily mean much... For a little visual effect, the logo is in ambigram (which can be read in both directions). A good marketing idea? I don't know, but this is how it was born: " VIOLN" .
  • A SECOND PASSION

Today, it's been almost 5 years that I have been pursuing this second passion, to pass on to you my love of old things through these second-hand, restored, sometimes revamped objects.
- My approach? To give objects a second life and fight against waste and overconsumption.
- What I offer? UNIQUE, ORIGINAL, CUSTOMIZED objects and often of BETTER QUALITY than what is currently found on the market.

Vintage is back in fashion, opt for SECOND HAND and UPCYCLING in your interiors!

Thank you for reading and happy shopping on VIOLN.FR :)
